Level III: This is the last class before entering into the Adult JKD Program. Our philosophy is to provide "Age Appropriate" classes which we have found leads to safer classes for the students. McKenzie Martial Arts feels that kids should be kids for as long as they can. Too often schools put kids into adult classes at 14 years of age and that can be very intimidating for a young teen. Parents can be assured their child will be learning valuable self defense lessons while training in many of the top combat sports in the world.
Physical Training Aspects:
Thisclass focuses on four primary arts: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Wrestling and Western Boxing. Using Bruce Lee's JKD Philosophy, combined with these four arts, we have developed modern training methods for the sport of Mixed Martial Arts.
Our training methods include techniques and strategies that allow our students to handle self defense situations without the need for violence. Walking away from a fight can be very difficult, but our students understand the difference between:
Self Defense- Combat for Sport- and the "Ego Fight". We do not allow our students to engage in conflict out of anger or hate.
Philisophical Training Aspects:
The Teen JKD/MMA class is the first time students take a deeper look into the philosophy of Bruce Lee's JKD. There are many pressures that come with being a teenager these days and we feel this type of training helps teens with:
School work
Team Sports
Peer Pressure
Parents/siblings
Self Image
Healthy Diet
There is an amazing power of confidence that comes from martial arts. A confident and strong young teen can do amazing things in this world. This program is also geared towards the student/athlete who uses martial arts as a training tool for their school sport. At the same time we are a great alternative to the teenager who who is looking for something other than team high school sports.
